Waking Up to Moments of Everyday Awe
Part of what makes a moment of awe so special is that it take us by surprise. Yet, awe is not random. We can definitely influence whether or not we experience awe in our everyday lives.
And there are a lot of amazing things in our everyday lives! Like what I saw on my walk (and if you have a minute I'd love to share it with you in this video).
How do you become more receptive to awe?
When your crazy mind is bound up with worries and concerns, do something different. Sing. Move. Slow down. In some way, use your body to help your mind return to its natural spaciousness.
When there's space, everyday wonders will make themselves known.
There is much pain and suffering in our world. And. There is awe, even here.
As we enter the holiday season, my wish is that we all value slowing down our nervous systems and perceiving the world with awe. What a gift this life is.
